Preserving Air Canada pension benefits
May 30, 2011 10:37 AM CUPE joined two other unions representing Air Canada workers – CAW and the IAMAW – in a joint statement today calling on the airline to halt attacks on its workers’ pension plan. All three unions are currently in collective bargaining negotiations with Air Canada. CUPE Air Canada Component represents over 6,800 flight attendants. more »

CUPE New Democrats on their way to the House of Commons
May 3, 2011 03:04 PM Canadian workers will have a strong voice in the first NDP Official Opposition caucus. Twenty-three CUPE members, staff and retirees ran for the NDP, gaining over 220,000 votes collectively. Six won and will soon be taking their seats in the House of Commons.
