This conference is for new and emerging advocates, with a curriculum designed for those new to CUPE activism. The goal is to introduce members to the necessary basic understandings of CUPE involvement that enables them to take the first steps into a more active role with their local.

It will be held from April 1 - 3, 2025 at the Coast Capri Hotel & Conference Centre in Kelowna, BC.

Registration opens April 1, 2025 at 5:30 pm, followed by a plenary and opening session at 7:00 pm. The conference will end April 3, 2025 at 12:00 pm.

Participants must book their own hotel rooms at the Coast Capri using booking code: 6644522. Deadline to book rooms is March 07, 2025.

Registration fee: $100 per participant for affiliated locals. Payment information is included in the registration package.

This workshop is about following rules of order when chairing union meetings. Learn about the role of the chair and the different elements (motions, amendments, points of order, etc.). Get a chance to put the learning into practice.

NADC Spring 2025 school will be held from April 8-11 2025 at the Prestige Hudson Bay Lodge & Conference Centre in Smithers, BC.

This school is open to both members of affiliated locals and non-affiliated locals at a cost.

Courses will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day Tue - Thu and Friday April 11th will be half a day (am only) for course wrap up and closing sessions.

Course offerings will be:
1) Collective Bargaining
2) Local Executive Training
3) Shop Steward Learning Series

** The Shop Steward Series (SLS) will be A la Carte options where you can choose from 2 different options each day Tue - Thu. You MUST pick a course for each day. If your registration is NOT complete with a chosen Option 1 or 2 for each day it is not a confirmed registration and you can lose your spot ***

Following the completion of LET - Financial Essentials, this 6-hour workshop allows Secretary-treasurers and Trustees to delve deeper into local finances.

Secretary-treasures will learn how to use the CUPE electronic ledger, manage the local union's funds and accounts, and prepare reports to the membership and the trustees.

Trustees will learn how to properly perform an audit of the local union's books, accounts, properties, and assets. At the end of this workshop, Trustees will be able to make recommendations to the local union to improve the local union's financial health.

NOTE: Please bring a laptop, if possible.
