The members of CUPE 1521 are proud to provide supports and services to adults with developmental disabilities for Ottawa-Carleton Association for Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OCAPDD).
Their best efforts are frustrated when the association can’t recruit and retain workers because of the low wages and poor working conditions it offer. These challenges in turn affect the quality and continuity of care provided to individuals with developmental disabilities.
The frontline workers in CUPE 1521 put forward reasonable proposals to address these challenges. After months of bargaining – and nearly two years without a contract – they’ve yet to make a meaningful difference or address the roots of the problems.
Please write to OCAPDD, call on them to return to the bargaining table, listen to the voices of their workers, and invest in the vital work of CUPE 1521 members.
