The union representing striking workers at the Villa Charities-owned Villa Colombo Homes for the Aged in Toronto is hopeful that their strike, now in its second month, might soon come to an end. The 25 personal care workers of CUPE 5525 have been on strike since May 28, after talks broke down.
The union and employer met on July 29, the first time since the strike began. The parties are scheduled to meet again on Friday, August 1.
