Carole NeillCarole Neill, who earned a PhD in French literature, joined the Executive Board of the Syndicat des chargés de cours (lecturers’ union) at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, CUPE 2661, as secretary in 1989. She subsequently served as treasurer from 1993 to 1997 and then as First Vice-President from 1997 to 2001. In 2001, she became president of the Syndicat des chargés de cours de l’UQTR, a position she still holds. In 2008, she was elected President of the Conseil provincial du secteur universitaire (CPSU) and as such joined the CUPE Quebec Office as Vice-President of the University Sector (VPUS). She served three terms as President of the University Sector. In 2017, she was re-elected President of the CPSU and re-joined the CUPE Quebec Office as Vice-President of the University Sector. She was elected as Regional Vice-President Representing Quebec on the CUPE National Executive Board in November 2020.
