André Freynet was elected to CUPE’s National Executive Board as Regional Vice-President for Manitoba in October 2025. He also serves as the Winnipeg Area A representative on the CUPE Manitoba Executive Board.
A school board worker, Freynet has been a CUPE member for 22 years, first with CUPE 3473 and then for the last 18 years with CUPE 3754. Over that time, he has held many roles on the local executive, most recently as president.
Freynet also serves as a trustee on the Manitoba School Boards Association pension plan and the Manitoba Public School Employee Benefits Plan.
