CUPE is welcoming applications for the position of Administrative Officer (Information Management Technical Analyst), for the CUPE-Wide Information Management (IM) Solution,
to work from the Technology Branch of the Finance and Administration Department at National Office of the Canadian Union of Public Employees located in Ottawa, Ontario.
GENERAL FUNCTION
As a member of the Technology Branch and under the guidance of the Senior Officer for Information Technology (IT) Systems and Solutions, the successful candidate will, in collaboration with the IM and the IT teams, primarily focus on the technical components and elements of the underlying architecture of and automation within the CUPEDocs solution ensuring its sustainability, system capacity, and performance and technical currency. Additionally, this role oversees the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of CUPE’s Intranet (CUPEConnect).
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
- Oversee all automated solutions related to CUPEDocs and CUPEConnect, including but not limited to new MS Teams requests, CUPEDocs requests, automated membership lists, and the MS Teams registry.
- Maintain a high degree of knowledge/understanding of the CUPEDocs and CUPEConnect solutions as well as the Microsoft Power Platform.
- Be responsible for file migrations (OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams) for substantive volume of files or large files that require time and specialized migration tools.
- Provide support for incoming technical requests from escalated service desk tickets or from Information Leads and Content Publishers as it relates to technical issues or questions within CUPEDocs or CUPEConnect.
- Work with the CUPEDocs team in support of maintaining current solutions and developing and deploying new solutions based on SharePoint, Teams, and the Power Platform.
- Review IM project deliverables by providing feedback and by working with users and project teams to troubleshoot issues.
- Collaborate with the CUPEDocs team for the testing, training, and analysis of feedback from end users on the CUPEDocs solution.
- Monitor and report on CUPEDocs and CUPEConnect usage, storage, compliance, and system performance.
- Collaborate with the IM team to develop, test, and manage retention and disposition processes.
- Work with IM consultants to ensure knowledge transfer to CUPE IT staff.
- Collaborate with the IM team to strategize access, consolidation, collaboration, and retention of information based on security, audience, and content classification and propose automation to support the strategies.
- Work with the Technology Branch, the IT service desk, and Microsoft to report, analyze, and document CUPEDocs, CUPEConnect, SharePoint, Teams, and Power Platform issues, errors, and bugs and find solutions or temporary workarounds to those.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University graduate in an IT discipline and knowledge of current IM principles and practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of trade union values and principles;
- Any MS certification relating to SharePoint, Teams, or Power Platform (i.e. MS-700, MS-300, and PL-900) would be an asset.
- Minimum eight years experience with Office 365 and strong knowledge and experience in MS cloud environments with a focus on SharePoint and other related applications such as Teams and OneDrive.
- Experience with M365 administration and configuration.
- Experience with SharePoint and Teams administration and configuration.
- Experience with Power Automate and Power Apps development.
- Experience with PowerShell.
- Experience with ShareGate.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT as set out in the collective agreement between CUPE and the Canadian Staff Union National Office Component.
WEEKLY SALARY RANGE: $2,507.19 to $2,562.39
