CUPE 3513 members at Braemore Home in Sydney, Nova Scotia, have voted 96 per cent in favor of job action.

The vote took place on July 7, 2010.

CUPE National Representative Todd MacPherson said, “These workers have sent a very clear message to the employer. They want a fair collective agreement.”

“We have asked for the assistance of a conciliator from the Department of Labour,” said MacPherson. “We’re now waiting to secure dates for further talks.”

Local 3513 consists of 120 residential care workers, dietary, housekeeping, laundry, developmental programmers, occupational therapists and maintenance workers.
