About thirty participants from the national universities conference taking place in Montreal this weekend attended a breakfast meeting hosted by the National Women’s Task Force.

Cuts in government spending on a variety of social services  and an overall shortage of time due to work and family pressures were two of the many ideas  put forward  for the lack of participation by women in leadership roles in CUPE.

Women and men attending the breakfast were encouraged to promote the NWTF Membership survey available at cupe.ca among other members of the unions.
Barb Moore, from Grand Pre, Nova Scotia, NWTF co-chair and Hitomi Suzuta, a  university worker from the University of Regina and  an NWTF member for Saskatchewan co-facilitated the event.
