Almost 100 healthcare officials and support staff attended the presentation and discussion on healthcare acquired infections today at the Union Centre.

Speaker Steve Davies, Senior Research Fellow from Cardiff University (Scotland) talked about “Hospital cleaning and its impact on infection control”.

Guests at the event included members of the Manitoba Council of Health Care Unions, representatives of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, infection control officers from local hospitals and CUPE health care workers (members of the Provincial Health Care Council).

After the presentation, CUPE members discussed infection control measures in their various facilities across the province, and what they needed to help assure appropriate infection controls.
