OTTAWA - The Canadian Health Coalition and Alberta’s Friends of Medicare will conduct a media briefing on the eve of the First Ministers Meeting on Health Care.
Canadians expect their Prime Minister to table a plan to protect and improve the public, not-for-profit health care system. If Alberta’s Ralph Klein, or any other first minister, cannot accept federal conditions that reflect the fact that Canadians view health care as “a moral enterprise, not a business venture”, they are free to walk away from the table. Canadians clearly do not want Prime Minister Chrt0069en to compromise on a principle that would threaten the integrity and sustainability of Medicare.
