Montra006c, Monday, July 7, 2003 At a general meeting held at the Auberge du Village (La Ronde site), office, admissions and amusement employees at La Ronde, represented by the Syndicat des fonctionnaires municipaux de Montra006c (SFMM, CUPE 429), voted 86.8% in favour of the agreement in principle concluded with the Six Flags Park (La Ronde).
As well as providing wage increases of 2.4% for 2002, 3% for 2003, 3% for 2004 including a cost of living adjustment if the CPI exceeds 3.5%, and 2% for 2005, the new collective agreement introduces an entirely new salary scale, increasing the difference between each salary step from $0.25 to $0.50 and reducing the number of years required to reach the maximum scale from seven to five. These measures represent substantial monetary gains for the workers.
Since our members are mainly students with seasonal jobs, the unions most important concern was to improve their wage conditions, so were very satisfied with the gains made. We were also able to improve certain non-monetary clauses involving union certification and occupational health and safety, said Vincent Legault, vice-president and union spokesman.
The new labour contract will cover four years from January 1, 2002 to December 21, 2005
The SFMM (CUPE 429) represents some 10,000 municipal employees working in some 350 different jobs for the new City of Montra006c as well as for para-municipal companies such as the Socit du Parc des les (SPI), the Socit dhabitation et de dv0065loppement de Montra006c (SHDM), the Socit de dv0065loppement de Montra006c (SDM), the Office municipal dhabitation de Montra006c (OMHM), the Six Flags Park (La Ronde), Cit 004eordelec inc., Corporation Anjou 80, and Stationnement de Montra006c.
