WHISTLER – After mediated bargaining failed this weekend, Whistler’s municipal workers have been receiving calls from local residents and community leaders that point to a ‘made-in-Whistler’ solution to the 3½ month labour dispute between CUPE 2010 and the Resort Municipality of Whistler.

Right now, we’re focused on getting a fair settlement for our members and for the community,” says Robin Jones, CUPE 2010 chief negotiator and national representative. “We’re exploring all locally-initiated options to end the dispute.”

In order to allow community solutions to be freely explored, CUPE 2010 will not be discussing the nature, content or source of these options with the media.
