Municipal employees from across western Canada will gather in Edmonton this weekend to discuss the state of municipal government in Canada and to discuss issues of common concern.

The Western Municipal Employees Conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (10111 Bellamy Hill) from Friday to Sunday.

Delegates, members of CUPE from the four Western Canadian provinces, will discuss municipal funding, infrastructure, water privatization, private public partnerships, and employment issues.

National CUPE President Paul Moist will deliver a keynote address Friday at 9:30 am.
