Members of CUPE 255, went on strike on August 20th, to fight against concession demands by their employer, Westario Power Inc., in Kincardine, Ontario.
We will not allow anyone to push our members around, says Jim Keenan, CUPE National Representative. We will fight this to the very end because we will not accept any concessions.
The 36 members provide power line maintenance, administration and billing services. Westario Power management is trying to take away protection against contracting out and layoffs.
