CUPE Newfoundland and Labrador president Wayne Lucas recently attended a screening of the documentary film Dead in the Water.

“If you really believe…that water should be accessible to everyone on this planet and if we can keep it away from those who just want to make a profit,” Lucas said, “this event told that story.”

About 50 people attended the hour-long show in St. John’s, NL, including eight from CUPE. It is just one of several screenings that are being sponsored by CUPE, the Council of Canadians and other groups as part of World Water Day events. WWD is March 22.
