CUPE locals in Victoria, British Columbia, are raising awareness about the work that they do to support students and quality public post-secondary education.

They have launched a new Website, CUPE Working Together, with a series of short videos and information about a range of post-secondary education issues.

At the University of Victoria ‘Student Day of Welcome’ on September 8, representatives from CUPE 917, 951 and 4163 handed out rave cards to promote the new Website and a draw to win up to $500 in gift certificates from the unionized bookstore.

Locals gave out CUPE BC first aid kits and Frisbees – both very popular items. Over a thousand students talked with CUPE representatives about campaigns to raise awareness about juvenile diabetes, leukemia research and organ donation.
