Today’s unemployment statistics underscore the need for fast action on the economy, Paul Moist said today.
Moist echoed the CLC’s observations on the latest employment statistics.
Rather than encumbering provinces and municipalities with the obligation to investigate public private partnerships, the federal government needs to get their stimulus money out the door now.
The FCM recently offered up a list of 1000 “shovel-ready” projects that are waiting for funding.
“And there are now 129,000 more people waiting for action from the federal government,” Moist said. “How many more people must join them before we see money start to flow?”
