Calling her a “great friend to the labour movement”, CUPE BC president Barry O’Neill kicked off an emotional and heartfelt tribute to outgoing Secretary-Treasurer Geraldine McGuire.
Geraldine’s sister, Sheila, talked of how proud the entire family was of her accomplishments, work ethic and commitment to making a difference. McGuire, who was showered with accolades and gifts from delegates, wanted everyone to remember that, “First and foremost, it is not about ourselves. It is about our CUPE family.”
