TWO HILLS, AB – Employees of the Town of Two Hills have voted 100% in favour of joining the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).

In a supervised vote by the Alberta Labour Relations Board, employees voted 7-0 in favour of being represented by the union.

Union organizer Al Halaby said the employees came to CUPE because of concerns over health and safety and dignity and respect in the workplace.

Halaby said the union will shortly meet with its new members and start planning for negotiations with the Town for a collective agreement.
