TORONTO – A tentative agreement was reached at 6:30 am this morning between the Toronto Public Library and the Toronto Civic Employees’ Union, Local 416 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), representing 2,400 library workers.

The negotiating committee will recommend this agreement to our members in upcoming ratification votes,” said Local 416 president Brian Cochrane.

Details of the agreement will not be released until it has been presented to Local 416 members for ratification. Because negotiations went through the night, CUPE representatives will not be available until later today for media calls.
