Thunder Bay Supports City Workers

CUPE municipal workers are receiving strong support from the community as they continue their strike for job security and fair wages.

A recent door-to-door canvass of 2670 Thunder Bay households resulted in 2,472 households expressing support for the unions position 003900330025 of the households canvassed. The 650 CUPE members are now in the eighth week of their strike. Many of them have not had wage increases for seven years.

The president of the local is Judith Mongrain. The National Representative working with the local is Howard Matthews.
