SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. A tentative agreement has been reached between Local 894 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and the Group Health Centre in Sault Ste. Marie.
Were happy to recommend this deal to our members, says Dawn Valiquette, president of CUPE Local 894, representing 173 housekeeping, clerical, technical, maintenance, RPNs and other medical personnel. We hope this will bode well for positive labour relations with our employer in the New Year.
The tentative agreement will be presented to members for a vote on Saturday, December 4th. Details of the agreement will not be released until it has been ratified.
