A tentative agreement has been reached for renewal of the collective agreement between Quebec City and its aquatic sector employees, represented by CUPE 4528.

If this agreement is approved by union members, it will ensure the renewal of the collective agreement until 31 December 2013.  Their previous labour contract expired on December 31, 2010.

Before being made ​​public, the details of the agreement will first be submitted to union members at a general meeting.The meeting date has not been set, but it is expected to take place before the end of June.The union negotiating committee will recommend that its members accept the tentative agreement.

The aquatic sector employees are composed mainly of swimming pool lifeguards and instructors. They number about 425 in Quebec City. CUPE represents this category of employees in several cities in Quebec.
