Sudbury, Ont. – The Canadian Union of Public employees (CUPE), representing over seventy workers within Greater Sudbury Utilities, reached a tentative agreement with the management negotiators on Monday, March 17th.

Both sides worked hard to reach an agreement, and I am happy we will be able to proceed with a ratification vote”, said Wyman MacKinnon, Local Union President. He also pointed that the agreement will be “unanimously recommended” to CUPE members on a meeting scheduled for April 3rd.

CUPE 4705 represents approximately seventy workers, including hydro production workers, lineman, office, clerical and technical staff.

Details of the agreement will only be released after it has been ratified by CUPE 4705 members and the Greater Sudbury Utilities Board of Directors.
