Eight active CUPE members and two CUPE retirees have been elected in this year’s municipal and school board elections in Nova Scotia.
CUPE Nova Scotia President Danny Cavanagh says, “I want to thank each and every CUPE member who put their names forward as candidates. We had a total of 19 brave women and men who did so and it speaks highly of their commitment to their respective communities.
“We now have ten people across the province who, as public employees, understand the vital role that public services play in creating strong communities and healthy local economies,” says Cavanagh.
