Talks to resume in strike by Catholic Childrens Aid Society of Toronto Workers

(Toronto) Talks between the Catholic Childrens Aid Society of Toronto (CCAS) and the union representing striking workers will resume tomorrow, July 25, 2000.

Both sides had met informally last Friday and agreed to resume formal contract talks. The 250 frontline social services workers with CCAS went on strike July 14 after rejecting a tentative settlement. The main issue in the dispute is workload and the impact it is having on the workers ability to protect children who may be at risk.
