DELTA—Fairchild Television was in attendance as CUPE BC president Barry O’Neill presented his “Investing in Our Communities” talk on Wednesday evening in Delta.

Also at the event, Steelworkers Wood Council chair Bob Matters called for solutions to the forest crisis. The evenings theme was embraced by the crowd, with a U.S. arbitrator echoing O’Neill’s call for local purchasing policies by municipalities and the event host, BC Federation of Labour secretary-treasurer, Angie Schira, urging Olympic organizers to include more local aboriginal products in Olympic merchandising.
