Under decades of Conservative and Liberal governments, the wages of Canadians have stagnated, while corporate profits and incomes of the richest Canadians have risen.
While Canadian families struggle to make ends meet, the public services we count on for our quality of life and as a source of good jobs are being cut. Part-time, casual, low wage insecure jobs are becoming too common, especially for women and racialized workers.
Increasing inequality and cuts are slowing down our economy. We need higher wages and more public investment to strengthen it. It’s time to renew and expand the physical and social infrastructure that is the backbone of our country.
We need a plan to build a stronger and more sustainable economy that creates good jobs for all Canadians and protects the quality public services we depend on.
