CUPE 7498 – the support staff of the University of Sherbrooke in Quebec - have been on strike since August 26.  The local is a merger of two groups including about 1,300 support staff who have been without a contract since December 31, 2008 and 120 others assigned in research who been without a contract since June 26, 2006 – that is more than 64 months!

They are united against an employer who remains inflexible, refusing to give them wage increases comparable to the wages that have been agreed to with other support staff workers in the Quebec university sector. Please send a strong message of solidarity and support to our sisters and brothers at the University of Sherbrooke.
