BEAUSJOUR Support workers in the Sunrise School Division will picket the School Division offices tomorrow, April 8th at noon. The Division offices are located at 75 - 5th Street in Beausj006fur.
Speaking to the support workers will be Paul Moist, CUPE Manitoba President. Other union officials will also be present.
The members are going to walk picket lines at schools in Beausj006fur, Lac-du-Bonnet, Whitemouth, Reynolds, Gillis and Powerview.
The 200 members of CUPE Local 1618 provide custodial, maintenance, bus and teaching assistance support to the School Division. They have been without a contract since December 2002.
There are unconfirmed reports that the School Division will try to bring in non-union cleaners during the strike.
