CUPE members in the Montreal region demonstrated their solidarity with striking outside workers in Verdun, October 27, rallying before City Hall.

The 140 strikers, members of Local 302, have been on strike four weeks.

Determined to protect their jobs, the Local has stepped up its pressure for a settlement, charging management with bargaining in bad faith. As well, they have decried Council’s decision to raise their own salaries while trying to reduce wage costs for the municipality.
