Why is Storytime on the line?
Every day, thousands of people across Mississauga rely on services provided by Mississauga Public Library workers. We foster a lifelong love of reading for kids and give overburdened parents a break. Library workers help students with research and homework, connect newcomers with vital services, and are a safe space for all members of our communities.
We know how much you value library services. You tell us so every day, and we’re grateful.
But the City of Mississauga doesn’t share your values. They believe our wages should not keep up with inflation and sky-high cost of living. They believe library workers deserve less than other city workers. The bottom line is there are no library services without library workers.
Library workers need your support. Tell your councillor that you value library services and want a fair and equitable contract for the workers who provide them.
