Delegates to National Convention have adopted Strategic Directions 2025-2027: Solidarity in Uncertain Times, setting out CUPE’s priorities for bargaining, advocacy, and political action over the next two years.
A second Trump presidency and a Bay Street banker in the Prime Minister’s Office means CUPE’s responsibility to defend workers’ rights and public services has never been greater.
Strategic Directions provides our union with a roadmap to defend our achievements and continue making progress on reconciliation with Indigenous communities, expanding public services, confronting the cost-of-living crisis, finding energy and climate solutions, and building an economy that works for workers.
The document also commits CUPE to bolster member engagement in the political process during and between elections, and build on its foundation of advocating for international solidarity, peace, and human rights.
Let’s remember, Strategic Directions does not begin and end at National Convention. Members, activists, and leaders at all levels of the union are encouraged to look at how they can contribute to fulfilling this work in their own locals, workplaces, and communities over the next two years.
