Hundreds with developmental disabilities without services — South Eastern Ontario families, support workers appeal to province for better funding to stabilize supports

Waitlists for services and supports for adults and children with a developmental disability are at an all-time high in Perth, Belleville and other areas of south eastern Ontario, and must be addressed by the provincial government before more families lose hope, say area parents, Tayside Community Residential & Support Options and direct support workers.

Together, they will be holding a media conference on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 – 11:00 a.m., at a Tayside residence, 155 Gore Street East in Perth, Ontario, to give an overview of the challenges faced by area families in accessing services locally.
