CUPE members are urged to sign on to support the KYOTOplus campaign that is calling for stronger action from the Canadian government on climate change. The campaign is a simple and direct call for Canada to act co-operatively and constructively to reach a binding global warming agreement in Copenhagen in December 2009.

CUPE – as a national organization – has endorsed the KYOTOplus campaign, as have many other labour (including the Canadian Labour Congress), social justice, community, environmental, Aboriginal and faith groups. Signing the KYOTOplus petition is one direct action CUPE members can take to help push the federal government to reach a binding international accord in Denmark next month.
