Lindsay, Ont. – Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Ontario President Sid Ryan will lead a ‘Protect Public Services’ rally for municipal workers with the City of Kawartha Lakes at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, January 12 at Victoria Park, in Lindsay.

Ryan will join CUPE 855 members and other public service workers and supporters to raise awareness of the workers’ outstanding bargaining issues.  The workers are fighting to protect public services in the City of Kawartha Lakes, as management continues to seek ways to contract out public services and undermine front-line workers. Conciliation talks between CUPE and city management are scheduled for January 14 and 15.
