VANCOUVER — Simon Fraser University bookstore employees, members of CUPE Local 3338 were locked out by Harbour Centre’s bookstore management today.

CUPE has proposed a similar mediation arbitration process currently being used to resole the UBC dispute but Simon Fraser Management has so far not responded to the proposal.

“SFU support staff are looking for fairness.” Said Lynne Fowler, president of CUPE 3338. “University administration found the money to give other employee groups wage and benefit increases but are refusing to do the same for its support staff.”

Plans for future job actions will be announced on the local’s website www.cupe3338.bc.ca.
