After shutting down the school system in Surrey BC for three days, CUPE 728 reached a tentative agreement with their newly-elected school board in the wee hours of the morning November 26. While students returned to classes Friday, details of the agreement were not yet available.

Bargaining issues in the Surrey School District are similar to those in the 47 school board locals who are engaged in co-ordinated bargaining in BC. Key issues include job security, resolution of pay equity issues, wages and labour management.
