The lowest paid workers at Selwyn earn just over $18/hour. That is fraction of what they’re worth as educators and professionals who keep a child care centre running – and far less than others in the sector. No one can live in Toronto on those wages.

These workers love what they do – but they also know they deserve fair pay, professional training, and adequate sick days so they’re not forced to chose between their health and their rent money.

Selwyn can’t keep workers, and the ones who stay are overburdened and stressed. Something needs to change.

These workers – and the children and families who depend on them – deserve good jobs that respect them and pay fairly.

Please send a message to the Board of Directors at Selwyn. Tell them that you support child care workers. Call on them to invest in these vital workers.
