cupe.ca’s search engine now ranks documents according to relevance and should give much more predictable results. The site now also has an advanced search feature (after a fashion).
The search engine now searches all parts of a web page without regard to case and ranks each matching document according to how many times each word in the query appears. (Previously searches in the body of a document were case sensitive and an exact match had to be found to return a “hit”).
Matching documents are sorted first according to their relevance, second according to their published date.
We hope to further improve the site’s search facility soon.
