CUPE Local 108, the union representing municipal outside workers at the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), is vowing to fight a proposal to close the historic Halifax Forum – one of the country’s oldest arenas and a designated HRM heritage building.

CUPE Local 108 President Mike Young says, “We believe that the Halifax Forum is much more than a building or a hockey arena.  It is a vital part of Halifax’s north end, the city’s history and is worth preserving.”
