CUPE 3124, The Syndicat des chauffeurs d’autobus de la Société de transport du Saguenay, is calling for greater courtesy among bus passengers. Delays resulting from service breakdowns are not caused by those behind the wheel.
“There aren’t enough buses for all the routes,” explained José-Nicolas Lopez, president of CUPE 3124. “We’re just people and we’re doing our best with the resources we have. So, please, be patient and polite.”
The union says it is working with the employer to find lasting solutions, but is asking the public to show more respect for its drivers at this time.
“This situation is not the driver’s fault. So show some understanding,” Lopez concluded.
