Toronto During the last three years, Canadian Union of Public Employees General Vice-President Sid Ryan observed the Orange Order marches in Northern Ireland as part of an international delegation from the Information on Ireland Campaign.
Ryan has remained in Canada this year and is available for media comment and analysis. Yesterdays march, blocked from proceeding on the Garvaghy Road, did not result in the confrontation that was anticipated. Nevertheless, Northern Irelands peace process remains tenuous.
