CUPE Newfoundland and Labrador President Wayne Lucas has a message to deliver to the Romanow Commission. He says profit is not the cure for this countrys health care problems.

Lucas says Canadians have made it clear since the hearings began that they are committed to maintaining and strengthening Canadas publicly-funded healthcare system. Lucas says Ottawa should not be looking to the private sector for answers to health care problems. He says privatization of health care will only push down benefits and salaries for front line health care workers, ration health care services, and create user fees for patients. >
