They are caused by the continual repetition of movements like typing, gripping, holding, pushing, pulling, and lifting. RSIs cause persistent or recurring pain most commonly in the neck, shoulders, forearms, hands, wrists, and elbows.  

RSIs afflict a variety of workers from all types of industries, and are an all-too-common cause of CUPE members’ suffering.  

Internationally, the last day of February is recognized as a day to raise awareness about repetitive strain injuries, and spread awareness about the importance of reporting symptoms and hazards in your workplace.
