Mark Ferguson, president of the Toronto Civic Employees Union - CUPE Local 416 announces press conference — will address issues of contracting out Toronto garbage and recycling


Mark Ferguson, president of the Toronto Civic Employees Union (TCEU), Canadian Union of Public Employees Union (CUPE) Local 416 will hold a press conference tomorrow, Thursday, April 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Toronto City Hall, Committee Room 2. 

Ferguson, and guests, will address the issue of contracting out garbage and recycling in their respective municipalities. 

Joining Ferguson will be Brian Madden, president of CUPE 503, Ottawa outside workers; Derron Vernon, president of CUPE 5167; and Mario Fontaine, vice president of Sherbrooke, Quebec CUPE-SCFP 2729, all of whom represent collectors whose work has been brought in-house by their respective municipalities. As well, Toby Sanger, CUPE National economist will be present.
