Picket lines will have gone up at the Thunder Bay District Health Units Board of Health, after employees voted 97% in favour of job action.

The 40 unionized employees of the Board of Health, members of Local 1759, are Health Inspectors, RPNs (Registered Practical Nurses), Dental Hygienists, Clerical Staff and Computer Technicians.

They are looking for wage parity with other Northern health units.

The Board of Health workers have been working without a contract since December, 1999.
