AURORA, Ont. – Members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 2863 will hold an information picket at Willows Nursing Home in Aurora on Monday, November 23 at 3 p.m.

The CUPE members are 80 registered practical nurses, and service and support workers who are employed at Willows Estate Nursing Home.

Willows Estate Nursing Home is one of 17 homes owned and operated by Peterborough, Ontario’s Omni Health Care.

Issues surrounding the information picket include the fact that the local has been without a contract with Omni since March 2007.

Omni has refused to meet with the local’s bargaining team since October 2008 – over a year with no collective agreement and no bargaining!
