(Halifax) – More than 200 Part Time Faculty at Saint Mary’s University have ratified a new union contract.
CUPE National Representative Peter Baxter says the members of Local 3912 have voted in favour of the deal that runs from September 1, 2009 to August 31, 2012.
Wage increases include:
• 2.9% in year one
• 2% in years two and three
• Additional economic adjustments to all classifications
Baxter says this is the first of three Metro university locals to settle on a new contract. Conciliation talks between CUPE and DAL are scheduled for April 1, with talks between the union and MSVU to follow those.
